We have developed many web services and used many API's over the years. One thing we know about is the importance of your data and the ability to share that data with the networks you require. We have several examples below of web services we maintain that are used to power everything from websites to mobile apps.
Harvester display all the nutrional information of their food on the menus. They also have "Nutrional Calculator" on their website which we developed that enables visitors to build their meal and work out the full nutrional information per person as well as the price! The website and the mobile application both run from the same web service which we also developed.
Mitchells & Butlers have many pubs/restaurants belonging to many brands across the UK. Whilst each of their brands has a national search page to find your local restaurant, they required a web service to use for several websites that will allow a visitor to find a pub/restaurant from the whole estate. The XML web service is in use on the main MB PLC site linked below as well as the guest feedback website. There is also a JSON web service which will be used on upcoming projects.
JavaScript widgets are in use everywhere now, from social sharing to news aggregators and more, their use varies from site to site. We developed the widget seen below as part of a private project which allows communties to run FIFA tournaments on their website with little effort.
The Sizzling pubs application uses a JSON web service that provides data to the app for each pub including what menus and prices they are assigned and which images should be used.
The Vintage Inns application uses a JSON web service that provides data to the app for each pub including what menus and prices they are assigned and which images should be used.
The Toby Carvery application uses a JSON web service that provides data to the app for each pub including what menus and prices they are assigned and which images should be used.
